Summit Medical Office Building Officially Opens with Well-Attended Grand Opening Ceremony
Boulder, Colorado, September 5, 2006 -- The new Summit Medical Office Building
in Frisco, Colorado officially opened on August 29, 2006 with an
open house and ribbon cutting ceremony. Much of the 87,000 square foot building is already occupied
by county offices,
local healthcare related non-profits and private practice offices.
The remaining square footage is available for build-to-suit medical offices and
includes shared flex space. Summit County looks to complete the medical campus with
private practice healthcare offices and a pharmacy.
The well-attended ceremony marked the completion of
Summit County's expanded and
focused medical campus. The medical office building is adjacent to the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center which opened in December
of 2005. Scott Vargo, Assistant Summit County Manager, said that the Board of County Commissioner's goal was "to create
a true medical campus within Summit County that offered expanded services in an
efficient and effective location."
"The ceremony was the culmination of a lot of planning and hard work by many people,"
said Vargo. "It was emotional for a number of the speakers, including
several long-time
County Commissioners. We received many positive comments about the quality of the
building and the benefits it will bring to Summit County."
Attendees at the event included Summit County Manager Ron Holliday; County Commissioners Bill Wallace, Tom Long and Bob French; State Representative Gary Lindstrom; and
County Treasurer Larry Gilliland. Also attending were Bill Bolthouse, Community
Care Clinic Board Chairman; Sarah Pokomy, Colorado West Regional Mental Health Director;
Noreen Galaba, Bristlecone Hospice Executive Director, Dr. Peter Janes of Vail Summit
Orthopaedics; Dr. James Bachman of Frisco Medical Center; and Paul Chodkowski from
St. Anthony Summit Medical Center.
Leasing of the remaining 11,679 square feet of the building is being managed by
Jason Kruse of The Colorado Group, Inc. in Boulder.
Architectural Resource Consultants, Inc., was the construction management firm for
the project.
