Proposed Boundary Modification of the Three Commissioner Districts
Please take notice that the Summit County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the BOCC Hearing Room at the County Courthouse, 208 Lincoln Ave., Breckenridge, Colorado regarding the proposed boundary modification of the three county commissioner districts. A county commissioner is elected from each commissioner district by the voters of the entire County. The county commissioner district boundaries must be revised after each federal census to assure the equal distribution of population between the districts. The proposed commissioner districts are substantially the same as the existing commissioner districts. Please click here to view a copy of the maps of the proposed districts.
Qualifying Senior and Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that beginning September 1, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners of Summit County, Colorado will sit as the Summit County Board of Equalization (CBOE) to hold hearings on appeals of decisions of the Summit County Assessor denying , in whole or in part, applications for Qualifying Senior or Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemptions. To be eligible for appeal property owners must have filed an application for tax exemption with the Assessor on or before July 15,2011. The form for filing an appeal was included on the Notice of Denial or Notice of Granted in Part form provided by the Assessor. Appeals forms must be postmarked or hand delivered to the Board of Equalization Office of the County Commissioners of Summit County, P.O. Box 68, 208 East Lincoln Avenue (3rd Floor), Breckenridge, Colorado 80424, on or before September 15,2011.
