Healthy Futures Initiative

Current Strategies and Projects

The Healthy Futures Initiative is currently working on a number of strategies to help reduce substance use in youth, and strengthen community agencies to work together. The 2012 - 2013 areas of focus for the coalition are:

  1. Parent Engagement - Increase engagement to school by working with community partners and families to create a system that will ensure all students graduate ready for college and/or continued training and education.
  2. School Engagement - By championing youth leaders and collaborating with community partners, we will help youth make healthy decisions about risky behaviors.
  3. Community Engagement - Summit County promotes family-focused events that are substance free while substance use at other community events is responsible and safe.
