Service Area
Summit County Ambulance Service provides a variety of emergency services including 9-1-1 and critical care inter-facility medical services to all of Summit County, Colorado, including the towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Blue River, Montezuma and Silverthorne as well as the unincorporated areas. Additionally, we respond to the world renowned ski resorts
Arapahoe Basin,
Breckenridge,
Copper Mountain, and
Keystone.
Ambulance Staffing
Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances are strategically placed throughout the county and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Ambulances are staffed by Nationally Registered Paramedics and Intermediates and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and stationed in Dillon, Frisco, and Breckenridge with additional ALS ambulances staffed during weekends, special events, and peak seasons out of Keystone and Copper Mountain. Summit County Ambulance Service is an enterprise fund department of the Summit County Government.
EMS Response
9-1-1 EMS response is coordinated with local fire districts, who also provide basic life-support level of care (BLS) or higher. For local emergency responses, fire districts can typically arrive within five minutes, and ambulances typically arrive within 8-12 minutes.

Patients are usually transported to
St. Anthony Summit Medical Center or emergency clinics in Breckenridge and Keystone. In the event of serious injury, ambulance personnel coordinate with
St. Anthony Hospital Flight for Life to airlift patients to the Denver area hospitals.
