Public Notice Regarding Property Tax Protest Deadlines

In compliance with 39-8-104, C.R.S., beginning on July 1, 2014, the Summit County Commissioners will sit as the County Board of Equalization (CBOE) to review the assessment roll of all taxable property located in the County of Summit, as prepared by the Assessor, and to hear appeals from determinations of the Assessor. The CBOE will hold hearings to review property valuation appeals on July 30, 2014 and July 31, 2014, at the Old Summit County Courthouse located in Breckenridge, Colorado.  Homeowners and property owners who timely filed objections to valuations set by the Summit County Assessor and are dissatisfied with the Assessor’s final determination of value, may file a petition to have that determination reviewed by the CBOE.  Petitions may be hand delivered to 208 E. Lincoln Ave, 3rd Floor, Breckenridge, CO 80424 or sent via U.S. Mail to: County Board of Equalization, PO BOX 68, Breckenridge, CO 80424.  Petitions for review of real property valuations must be received or postmarked on or before July 15, 2014 to be eligible for CBOE review.  Petitions for review of personal property valuations must be received or postmarked on or before July 20, 2014 to be eligible for CBOE review.  Upon owner’s timely delivery of an eligible petition, the CBOE will set a hearing in the matter and provide owner with notice of the hearing date and time.
