Summit County Engineering Department Home
Responsibilities of the Engineering Department are numerous and encompass many areas of County involvement including:
- Reviewing and enforcing engineering standards as established in the Summit County Land Use and Development Code and the Grading and Excavation Manual
- Planning, designing, and/or coordinating public works projects including roadway projects, Recpath projects, and natural resource improvements
- Floodplain administration
- Improvement district administration
- Contract administration
- Road sign review and approval (e.g. speed limits, warning signs, etc.)
- Coordinating right-of-way and special transport permits
- Administering access permits and grading & excavation permits
