Summit County Ambulance Service provides emergency medical response and community services to our citizens and visitors. Additionally, we assist local ski patrols at Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Keystone ski resorts.
Ambulances are strategically placed throughout the County and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each ambulance is staffed with a minimum of 1 paramedic and 1 EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Basic.
911 EMS response is coordinated with local Fire Districts, who also provide Basic Life Support level of care or higher. Fire Districts can typically respond within 5 minutes, ambulances within 8-12 minutes to local emergencies.
Patients are usually transported to St. Anthony's Summit Medical Center or emergency clinics in Breckenridge and Keystone. In the event of serious injury, ambulance personnel coordinate with St. Anthony’s Hospital Flight for Life to airlift patients to the Denver area hospitals.
