Business Licenses

According to Resolution 90-46, before the Board of County Commissioners and the County of Summit, any person selling a product in unincorporated Summit County shall make application to the Clerk and Recorder’s Office.

Once the application is obtained, approval from the Zoning Department is granted or denied. If granted, the Board of County Commissioners shall consider such application at their next meeting.

Businesses licenses are due and payable the month they are approved and expire in one year.

Marriage Licenses

Marriage License applications may be obtained at the Summit County Clerk and Recorder’s Office located in the Old County Courthouse at 208 E. Lincoln Avenue in Breckenridge.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

The license can be used immediately as there is no waiting period, but is only valid for thirty calendar days.

Driver's Licenses - Department of Motor Vehicles

If you are a new resident in Summit County you will need to obtain a Colorado State Driver’s License.

The Driver's License Office is located in the County Commons Building at 0037 County Road 1005 south of Frisco.
