The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has continued their review of draft short-term vacation rental regulations for unincorporated Summit County to a third public hearing, which will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the County Courthouse, 208 East Lincoln Ave. in Breckenridge.
We appreciate the community’s continued involvement in this process and the input you have provided for County staff and decision makers’ consideration. In response to the input received, the BOCC has tasked County staff with further evaluating several key issues raised by the public, and developing suggested revisions to the proposed regulations that could be made to address these concerns. Key areas of concern include occupancy provisions, special considerations for condo-hotels and fractional ownership units, and a revised process and timeline for rolling out the initial STR permitting process and handling annual permit renewals. During the next month, County staff will be looking into options to revise the proposed regulations to address these concerns, which will be discussed with the BOCC at the December 18 meeting. The December 18 meeting will include a public hearing, during which members of the public are invited to provide comments.
