July 10 Construction Update

Posted on July 10, 2015 at 4:37 PM by Julie Sutor

Culvert Replacements
Crews have begun replacing culverts on Summit Drive, which requires road closures and detours. On Thursday, crews replaced the culvert that crosses Summit Drive near the old recreation center parcel; today, they’re replacing the culvert at Cooper Drive. On Monday, July 13, they’ll replace two culverts at Sunlight Drive, which will result in a Summit Drive closure that will remain in effect all day. Drivers traveling to and from the back half of Summit Cove will need to use Cove Boulevard. Culverts at Idlewild and 1025 Summit Drive are next on the list for replacement.

Mailboxes and Erosion Control
Crews are working to remove all mailboxes and place them in 5-gallon buckets. Erosion logs are being placed in drainage ditches.

Summit Drive Project Schedule
To date, the Summit Drive crew has not experienced any weather delays, and this portion of the project is moving ahead on schedule.

Side-Road Repaving
We anticipate that side-road repaving will start on Wednesday, and we expect it to take five days. Unlike the work on Summit Drive, side-road repaving has been slowed by weather-related delays.

We greatly appreciate your patience during this construction work. We recommend that whenever possible, residents allow for a little more travel time and avoid the construction zones by traveling along Cove Blvd rather than Summit Drive.
