Licenses ensure that pets are vaccinated against rabies as proof of rabies vaccination is required to purchase a license. Licensing your dog may keep it from making an unnecessary trip to the Animal Shelter as it provides a way of tracing the dog back to you. It can also help locate you in the event your pet is injured and treatment needs to be authorized.
