Real Property Process
Property owners may appeal their values each year from May 1 through June 1. The Assessor’s Office reviews the appeals and sends a Notice of Determination on June 30, which outlines the decision and further appeal rights.
Personal Property Process
The appeal period for personal property is June 15 through June 30 each year.* Notices of Determination are mailed July 10.
*Due to COVID-19, the Governor issued an Executive Order extending the Personal Property Declaration deadline in 2020 to June 15, and so the Personal Property appeal period in 2020, along with other statutory deadlines, has been adjusted accordingly by the State Board of Equalization. The Personal Property appeal period will be August 3 - 20. Notices of Determination will be mailed September 2.
Appeals to valuation may be submitted to the assessor via email, online filing, in person, or by mail. Please only submit your appeal using one of the appeal methods. Multiple submissions for the same schedule will be rejected.
